Hmm. Seems my PC doesn't like profiles with playlists and lots of pictures on. It's started freezing up if it encounters profiles with more than about 5 pictures and a playlist. So if you look on your last 10, see me there, and then see I haven't rated you - that's probably why. I'm impatient and hate waiting for things to load!
Well said Images! Hopefully that'll put an end to some of the bickering seen recently in a certain few journals... ;-)
Well, I've done it. I've caved and created a mentorship. It's got the theme that my coven originally was going to have; help with database submissions and HTML/CSS/photoshop design. It's got the apt and slightly kinky name of 'Submissive Design' and before I go scouting for pupils I'm going to wait and see if anyone approaches me to be invited.
My daily giggle, found thanks to Freyja:
As Bloodlife pointed out, the journals are now full of bitchiness about ratings. I can't help but think it's got something to do with ratings now having an effect on your status level, and it's really weeding out those people who actually do care about ratings despite repeatedly affirming they don't. I've spotted a few complaining about a rate of 8 or lower; nearly all these have previously maintained 'rates are just numbers'. Hmm.
I have to say, I have mixed feelings about this status overhauling. In the main I think it's a good idea, although the ditz in me gets way too confused about all the new level names! But a part of me is thinking that some aspects go against what I initially enjoyed about the Rave.
For example, under the old system, the rating you got from someone didn't actually matter, and neither did the amount of friends etc you had. When anyone complained about a low rating they'd get comments such as 'VR isn't a popularity contest' or some such thing. But now, it's turning into one. Having less friends will get you penalised, getting low rates will lower your levels - making it so much easier for a vindictive member to do some 'damage', and the same goes for blocking. It seems that now, if someone takes a dislike to you all they have to do is get their friends to rate you low and block you, and you drop levels. Admittedly that's not the end of the world as it's still just a website, but it's a bit demoralising to lose x number of levels because you've inadvertantly offended someone.
But on the upside, it may encourage people to be nicer and more respectful to each other; something which VR has lacked in the past.
I'll reserve judgement and carry on doing what I normally do. My reservations will not stop me enjoying VR!
